Postman Pat Delivers at Greenwich
26th March 2005

Cutty Sark Gardens came alive on Easter Saturday with a special one day food market, charity stalls and children’s activities.

The event was a joint venture between Greenwich Space Management, organisers of Greenwich Market, and Greenwich Town Centre Management.   The aim was to showcase town centre retailing for local people and provide a fun day out for families.  The special stars were Postman Pat and his cat, promoting an Easter Egg Hunt which climaxed in a prize draw on the deck of  the Cutty Sark itself.

A wide selection of local traders took stalls in GSM’s special food market, and there was a range of charity stalls, children’s craft workshops and hot food with seating overlooking the Thames.

GSM also organised an art market giving local artists a platform to display and sell, an initiative they plan to repeat.  There were over 30 stalls in total with over 10 local artists.  Three groups of moving musicians included opera singers, traditional Glezka music and an Irish band.
